The world’s largest tire manufacturer, Bridgestone was founded in 1931 in Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan. Known for its impeccable reliability, Bridgestone is among the top choices as OE tires for auto manufacturers. An all-season tire, the Dueler H/T 684 II is a great choice for drivers of light trucks and SUVs thanks to its great performance around the year.
Whether it’s high-speed stability, handling on dry and wet, cornering, comfort, longevity, or noise level, the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II seems to be spot on compared to its rivals. Available in 18 to 22 inch sizes, the Dueler H/T 684 II comes with a 60,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty. The tire promises a lot in terms of performance, so let’s check out the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II review to know whether it actually delivers on the promises made.
Features and Benefits
All-season tires are engineered to provide superb grip in dry, wet, and light winter conditions on paved roads. The Dueler H/T 684 II claims to do all of that; let’s find out how it does that.
- Impressive traction – The tire provides superb traction in dry, wet, and light winter conditions thanks to its groove notches and straight grooves which quickly channel water and slush out from the surface to avoid the risk of hydroplaning. The mix of sipes and grooves improves the gripping capability of the tread in dry and wet conditions.
- Great comfort, quiet cabin – For a quiet ride, the Dueler H/T 684 II features variable pitch tread sequencing which cuts noise to a great extent while the rounded casing profile ensures a smooth ride. The tread perfectly interlocks with the surface at high speeds and reduces the chances of noise escaping the contact patch area.
- Excellent fuel efficiency and tread - The tire not only offers great traction and grip on dry and wet surfaces, but it also keeps rolling resistance low. The low heat build-up at high speeds results in lower fuel consumption and higher fuel efficiency. Additionally, solid shoulder ribs and a special silica ensure the tread wear is highly optimized resulting in longer tire life.

SimpleTire’s view on Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II tires
The Dueler H/T 684 II (starts around $137) offers great benefits such as superb traction and grip, excellent stability and handling, and low rolling resistance. It takes on the likes of Continental TerrainContact H/T (starts around $203), Goodyear Wrangler HP (starts around $212), and Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3 (starts around $175).
The Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II closely competes with its rivals in terms of performance and tread life. However, the Pirelli offers a limited tread mileage of 75,000 miles – 15,000 miles more than the Dueler. But then you need to shell out around $20 more for each tire.

Great on the dry highway, comfy ride, very low noise. OK in the rain... just OK in the snow but I have 4WD so I compromise for the low noise, comfy on the highway. Tread life is NOT good. This is a 30k mile tire, MAX. You get what you pay for.
Put on a Chevy Colorado 4x4. Not a bad tire. But definitely not for any off-road

They was hard to balance but finally found a shop that knew what they was doing
We bought these to replace some worn out tires on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. They were cheap and a big name brand, which is why we went with them. They're a good general-purpose tire. Fine in the rain, good on dry pavement, quiet, mostly comfortable ride. No real complaints with fair weather. The treadwear seems good as well. No abnormal or premature wear after having them for a couple of years now. Our biggest complaint with this tire is non-existent winter traction. Even in 4WD, the Jeep struggles to move and stop safely. So, we're now looking to replace these soon before winter 2023/2024 hits the area. If you need a tire and are tight on budget, these should generally do fine. But don't expect world-beating performance in any category with them. They don't do any one thing outstandingly well, but they don't fail at anything either, (besides winter capability). If you get a lot of snow and ice in your area, look for something else.
OEM tires on my Tundra W/T. Did not drive the truck a lot for several years because I had a more economical vehicle (Ford Focus). Still, it never sat more than 30-60 days before I put into rotation to keep things moving. I had noticed slight cracking in the sidewall above the rims shortly after purchase, but didn't give it a lot of thought because the dealer never raised it as an issue during my regular service, which included tire inspections. Following a recent trip to Fairbanks, a fellow commented on the condition of the cracks and also observed cracks in the deep part of the tread. A tire shop up there advised the tread line cracks were more cosmetic, but the sidewall cracks could be catastrophic. She recommended replacement before the end of the year. Fortune smiled upon me as Costco had a sale on Michelin tires and I got a set of LTX M/S 2 for a decent price. The 3 hour gross time for the change over wasn't great, but I have 'not Bridgestone.' After this experience, I won't recommend Bridgestone tires to anyone.
Only lasted 28000 miles.
