I've put about 10k miles on these 38/13.50/17s in a 2500 Ram. They do have a heavier load rating than the 37 Toyo RTs I swapped from, so they also right a little firmer which was expected. Great wear, look tough, still super quiet. Excellent value for the money. They balanced o it great, no shimmy's at any speed.

Let’s just get right to brass tacks: the Wildpeak MT01 from Falken is the kind of mud-terrain tire that’s trusted to take on the harshest terrain and the roughest conditions. If you need a tire that’s able to get you there and back confidently, whether that means gravel, rocks, mud, sand, snow, or pavement, the Wildpeak MT01 is the tire you’re looking for. Best of all, the Wildpeak MT01 delivers the kind of off-road traction and durability you need without compromising on ride quality, noise levels, and road manners on the highway.
There are not that many mud-terrain tires that can successfully blend aggressive off-road performance with comfortable and civilized driving dynamics on the highway, but this Falken tire is definitely one of them. But don’t just take our word for it, let’s dive in for a closer look with this Falken Wildpeak MT01 review.
Features and Benefits
Here are some of the features you can expect with the Wildpeak MT01 from Falken:
- DURASPEC 3-ply sidewall technology is designed to stand up to rough treatment in the form of scuffs, scrapes, punctures, and cuts
- Aggressive mud-terrain tread pattern with stone ejectors that expel rocks, mud, sand, snow, and slush so there’s always a clear section of tread to dig into the road
- Combination of offset shoulder blocks and aggressive upper sidewall blocks provide lateral traction for cornering or clawing out of ruts
- Sidewalls designed with heat diffusers to keep a tire cooler while towing or hauling heavy loads
- Rugged tread blocks and step-down supports on center tread blocks for traction in extreme offroad conditions
- Extra deep tread, up to 21/32” deep
- Optimized 3-pitch variable tread pattern keeps road noise to a minimum while boosting road manners
- M+S rated for mud/snow traction
- Field tested in some of the world’s toughest off-road competitions and rallies
Pros and Cons
So, is this the right mud terrain tire for your ride? Before you decide whether or not to purchase the Falken tire, let’s take a look at its strengths:
PROS:
- Excellent durability and traction
- Surprisingly quiet on the highway, not just for a mud terrain tire
- Can be used aired-down over rocks
- Civilized handling and ride quality on paved roads
- Easy to balance (unlike some mud-terrain tires)
Unfortunately, no tire is perfect and that’s true for the Falken Wildpeak MT01 too:
CONS:
- Softer tread compound might lead to a shorter tread life
- No treadwear warranty
- Not the most fuel efficient tire
- Should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
SimpleTire’s view on Falken Wildpeak MT01 tires
The Falken Wildpeak MT01 isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a tire that’s up to the job for the roughest treatment and terrain you can put it through, including aired-down rock crawling over stumps, roots, and boulders. The DURATEC 3-ply sidewall resists all kinds of damage whether aired-down or fully inflated, and the extra-deep tread depth means longer wear and enhanced traction in soupy mud or sand. No, the Falken Wildpeak MT01 isn’t Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for severe winter service but, with an M+S rating, we’re confident it’ll be able to get you through when the snow is flying. And we’re not exaggerating, the Falken Wildpeak MT01 really does deliver low noise and a forgiving ride on pavement. It may not be what you’d expect from an all-season tire, but it certainly doesn’t come with the headache-inducing tire roar that a lot of mud-terrain tires have.
We should address the lack of a treadwear warranty – many mud-terrain tires don’t offer treadwear coverage since the conditions and usage those tires are subjected to can vary a lot. However, the Wildpeak MT01 is covered against defects in manufacturing and workmanship for the first 2/32” of tread depth, with a prorated warranty from that point on.

My tires have been holding up very well. I've been buying these tires for the past 3 years. So far I'm happy with the quality and duration.
Great tread Ware
This is the best m/t tire I have ever run. For an M/T they are amazing in the snow.
I would buy them again in a minute!! Great tire for all seasons!! Tread life was good as well!
I have them on my F350. So far they are great tires. For MT tires they are very quiet. They preform well. I haven't had the on the truck long enough to speak to tread wear, but so far so good.
Really impressed with these MT's. Drive great, ride smooth, and the noise level is ridiculously quiet for a MT. Bought because the reviews said really quiet also the snow flake rating because of the harsh winters. Driving mostly interstate and city driving. Tires will see deep snow and winter driving with occasional off road use when needed. Swiss Army knife of tires.
I don't usually write reviews but I have to say how pleased I am with these tires and Simple Tire. I bought the tires for a plow vehicle; 1977 F150. We have had a fairly snowy winter in VT and I have not gotten stuck yet. The truck itself is noisy so I can't really say much about the tire noise or comfort but my old truck goes down the road straight and comfortably. Also, there was a snafu in shipping where one of my tires was swapped with another local delivery. Simple tire customer support was pleasant and efficient at getting it straightened out. Note that the selection for vehicles doesn't go back as far as '77.
So far deep snow and packed snowy roads and icy roads are far better than any other mud terrain I have used. On par or better than a lot of the bog name all terrains. Only have 4K miles on them so can't comment on wear but are holding up well so far. Also tow. A 31' 5th wheel and no surprises there.
