good all seasons for snow

Really happy with these tires so far. Slightly noisy but they ride well in all conditions so far.

Great tires for 2018 Subaru Forester!!

After much research and consideration we landed on Nokian Outpost APT for on road, off road, snow, and rain in the Pacific Northwest. Only the slightest road noise is noticed for all these tires offer. Highly recommend.

Ok but I should have bought Wild peaks

I have only had these for a couple of months. The tires are a bit louder, but the noise calms down after a few weeks. Dry traction is fine. Wet traction is bad when going around corners, even with all wheel drive. I should have just purchased the Wildpeak tires that I was also considering. Very disappointed with these tires.

Nice Looking Option For All Weather/All Terrain

I had about 45k miles on my 22' Forester Sport and only had around 2/32's of tread left before being down to the wear bars on the stock Falcon tires. I knew I didn't want to drive through the winter on almost worn out tires so a little while back I started watching for deals on tires. I'm in central IL and am a big fan of all weather tires, I've had Toyo Celsius on my past Forester, have Celsius 2's on my wife's Ascent, and before that had some Nokian WRG2's on a Mazda CX9 that she had before the Ascent. I tend to go for Toyota Celsius tires as I've had good luck with them and they seem to be priced pretty well, but I ended up picking up these Nokian Outpost APT All Weather/All Terrain tires on sale from Simple Tire during their Labor day sale a bit ago and I was able to get them cheaper than the Toyota Celsius tires I would have normally got. I figured this was a win/win they have a better tread life warranty and also a more aggressive looking being they are an AT tire and not just all weather. I'm not going to lie, I really got the APT's because of the more aggressive look of them. I don't really "need" all terrain tires, but I do occasionally drive gravel and dirt roads, and maybe a bit through the grass and dirt/mud of some property we are cleaning up, but I've got by with the stock Falcon tires for over 2.5 years. I do really like all weather tires though for the winter weather we sometimes get in central Illinois, there isn't enough to warrant winter tires, but I live out in the country so the roads can be sloppy for a while so they are very nice to have. Anyways yesterday I had the tires mounted and balanced yesterday and so far I really love them! I was a bit worried that they might be a little on the loud side being AT tires, but I think they are barely louder than the stock Falcon tires, but I do also have a stainless Flowmaster 40 series axle back exhaust that I welded up, so that may drown out a bit of the tire/road noise ?. My wife drove the car with the new tires and didn't mention anything about them being loud, so that is a pass in my book. LOL. There is just a little whine/hum around 30-40mph and a little road noise around 65-70mph, but you have to actively listen for it with the radio off. If you turn the radio on at all it isn't noticeable. They may get a bit more quite as they wear in as well? Dry pavement traction and handling is definitely better than the stock Falcon tires. We have a large S curve heading out of town and you can notice a noticeable improvement going through the S curve. I'm doing some dirt work with my tractor on some property next door to us, so I have a large hill of exposed loose and rutted dirt to "play" on. The tires did great going up and down this hill. There was a little wheel spin here and there going up the hill, but between traction control and the AT tires the Forester went up the hill and through some ruts and loose dirt like a champ. We also just had a thunderstorm roll through so I was able to try the new tires out in some heavy rain and deep puddles and they are at least just as good as the stock Falcon tires and probably better. Next week when I'm off of vacation and back driving to work we'll see if my mileage is affected much. I don't expect it to be as I drive mostly rural highways at 55mph or so. Overall I'm very happy with look and performance the Nokian Outpost APT tires so far! I really look forward to testing them out in the snow and really hope they hold up for the 65k warranty. I had good luck with tread life on Toyo Celsius tires in the past and I hope to see the same here!

Best all around tires I've found yet

I have a 2018 Forester and replaced a set of Falken Wildpeak AT Rails with these Nokian Outpost APTs. For whatever reason, Falken has decided to outprice themselves by jacking their tire prices up way too high now. So, I researched a good alternative before I purchased this set, but there wasn't a lot of information out there on the Nokians. I had a set of winter Nokians on another car years ago and they did well. So, with that, the price, and Nokian's reputation, I decided to try these Outpost APTs. Have about 2500 miles on them in PA winter now, including heavy rain, dry roads, cold days, warm days, ice, and two different snow storms (about 6 inches of snow and about 3 inches) in one 500 mile round trip and many shorter 70 - 200 mile day trips. Most trips are on concrete, but I have some purposeful jaunts on game commission gravel and dirt roads. I generally drive between 50 and 65 mph on good roads, hanging closer to 50 or 55 so I don't pay for college tuition for the oil company executives' kids. Tires are set to Subaru recommended 29 psi rear and 30 psi front, I check the pressures weekly. Car is not loaded heavily, generally just one or two healthy weight adults in it. First thing I noticed is the tread depth. Impressive. The second thing I noticed is the quiet on the road. Really quiet. The tires also take PA potholes without But, they are new, so we'll see if this holds out as they wear down. Gas mileage increased about 1.5 mpg overall over the Falkens, but is a little lower than the original all seasons. These tires have handled very well in all conditions. I intentionally stopped in the snow and on the ice in the middle of the biggest hill near my house. Between Subaru's AWD system and these tires, there was no hesitation at all. Rain and dry handling is spot on with no noticeable over or understeer. Braking in all conditions is good, with much better braking grab than the Wildpeak AT Trails in rain, snow, and ice. We'll be looking for a set of Outpost APTs for my wife's Crosstrek when it's time to replace hers, and I'm already considering replacing the Wildpeak AT3s with Outpost nATs on my 06 Sequoia (about to be used for towing a 26 foot RV moderate distances) when the time comes for its change. Of course, that will also depend on Nokian keeping their prices in a reasonable range. If tire companies just want to price their products like the KO2s, I'll just buy the KO2s. But, assuming they keep their wits about them, Nokian is my go to tire for the foreseeable future.

Excellent snow/ice/mud performance, no MPG loss

Winter performance is at least on-par with cheap studless winter tires, at least in PNW cold (I can't speak to how the rubber compound handles extreme cold) Mud performance is as good as any p-metric tires (even the more aggressively styled options don't have any more tread depth until you step up to LT rated tires). On road performance is as good as any high quality all season touring in terms of grip/wet/MPG, but there is an increase in road noise/vibration that's only really noticeable on smooth pavement with the windows down. I can't speak to longevity yet.

Fantastic all season tire

I installed these on a FWD Ford Maverick Hybrid. I live in a snowy area and wasn't sure how well they would do in the winter not being a dedicated winter only tire on a FWD vehicle. So far they have been great. They have an aggressive deep tread pattern and are certainly noisier than the stock tires they replaced. However, the noise isn't terrible and I wouldn't call it a big issue. Fuel economy went down a bit but not by much and well worth it considering the increased grip they give in all 4 seasons. In my previous vehicle I had Falken Wildpeak AT trails which are a competitor to these. I would say the Nokians seem to have better overall grip and are the same weight. The Wildpeaks were quieter and added no noticeable noise from stock tires. Tread life has yet to be determined but the starting tread depth is much deeper with the Nokians at 13/32 vs the Falkens 11/32. I wasn't impressed with the tread depth and tread life of the Wildpeaks and that was the primary reason I didn't buy those again. I also really like the looks of the Nokians as well.

Bought these to replace the factory 255/50/20

I went large with a 255/55/20 for my VW Atlas R and it looks and rides great. Actually the whole Simple Tire experience worked flawlessly. Used https://tiresize.com/calculator/ to figure out the size impact, read reviews on the Nokian Outpost APT, ordered and paid for tires and installation at a local shop. Dropped of auto in the AM done in the Afternoon. No issues. No noticeable noise difference, but handles the bumps better. Might be the sidewall composition, Looking forward to driving in the snow.

Poor Treadwear, Nokian (No More)

2019 Toyota Highlander Installed in Oct '22 and now at 50% treadwear. Driven less than 15,000 miles and rotated every 5ooo. I swear you can measure tread loss with every trip. Not my favorite. Low winter grip with AWD.
