All-weather tires are engineered for year-round use with better winter traction than an all-season tire, but how exactly does the Cinturato WeatherActive do that? There are two main ways:
First, a special silica-based rubber compound keeps the tire flexible throughout a broad range of temperatures. This means that the Cinturato WeatherActive can be used in high heat and sub-freezing temperatures without the risk of decreased performance.
Second, the Cinturato WeatherActive features a directional, V-shaped tread pattern, zigzag central grooves, and trumpet shaped lateral grooves that force water and slush out of the tread for better hydroplaning resistance, strong handling, and shorter braking distances. Deep sipes within the tread bite into the road to boost grip, which further enhances traction and braking performance on slippery surfaces.
The rubber compounding and tread features work together to increase performance year-round, which is why the Cinturato WeatherActive is Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for use in moderate to severe winter weather conditions.
Outside of traction and performance, longevity is also vital when purchasing a tire. Fortunately, Pirelli solved this problem by adding a 3-rib tread block to the tire that fends off uneven wear to help drivers get more miles out of their purchase. While all-weather performance and longevity were a primary focus of this tire, ride comfort was not overlooked. As we mentioned above, the Cinturato WeatherActive utilizes a directional tread pattern that’s primarily meant to increase performance. That being said, this directional tread pattern is also computer optimized which means that it helps to reduce road noises and vibrations so that drivers receive a quiet, comfortable ride regardless of the weather.

If you’re looking for a tire that offers true year-round performance then the Pirelli Cinturato WeatherActive absolutely needs to be on your radar. Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified and backed by a 60,000 mile limited warranty, this tire offers superb performance and handling year-round and doesn’t sacrifice ride comfort to do that. The catch, unfortunately, for the Cinturato WeatherActive is that it starts at a higher price point, which can be more expensive than the competitors like the Bridgestone Weatherpeak, and Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady. That being said, the Cinturato WeatherActive was just released in late 2022, and these competitors are at least a full year older (or six years older, in the case of the Assurance WeatherReady). This isn’t to say that the older tires are worse, but keep in mind that Pirelli was able to utilize newer technologies, rubber compoundings, and data from the industry to build their first entry into the all-weather market.
Like all Cinturato tires, the Cinturato WeatherActive is meant for use on passenger cars such as coupes, sedans, and minivans. With that in mind, cars like the Acura TLX, Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic, Toyota Sienna, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze, Volkswagen Jetta, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, Tesla Model 3, BMW 5 Series, and Mazda 6 are a great pairing for the this tire.

I'm about 5,000 miles into these tires and so far they have been great. Definitely better in the snow than my previous Continental DWS06+. On that note, they are not a replacement for my Blizzaks. I was hopeful that these would be a great solution, but I feel that I'll be getting a dedicated set of wheels and put Blizzaks on them for next snow season here in Pennsylvania.
Let me start by saying my wife's GLC63 runs the scorpion version of these tires already and we've been nothing but impressed with the Weatheractive design. I figured the Cintuaro version would be likely just as good and I can happily report they are. Despite being mounted to 19" wheels, they're fairly smooth even over bumps which is great compared to the factory Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. They're a little more audible but I expected that given the tread design. It's really not obtrusive, just noticeable if you're paying attention to it. Dry grip is great for what they are, definitely not a performance tire but they still hold their own through corners. The winter grip is what's got my attention though. I've had a mix of slushy snow, dry snow, icy mix, and sub zero wet sticky snow over the past couple weeks. These haven't skipped a beat once. Seriously, the grip is great and communicate the conditions well through the wheel. I purposely pushed on them one night to see if I could break them loose intentionally; shocker, they broke loose, but it was a very linear type of grip loss. That's exceptional IMO because it gives you plenty of time to correct and recover as needed. TL;DR version? Just buy them. Seriously. You'll struggle to find another tire that can handle just about anything the weather can throw at it like this.
Swapped out the all seasons for all weather and made it all the way thru the 2025 Arctic storm in the north west when you are on icy roads you can feel all the movements allowing for correction and they happen super quick the moment they can gain traction they do.
after doing tons of research I settled on the Cintuarato all weather tires. they handle well on curvy roads and the wetter the better. The road noise is negligible and handling on wet and dry roads is as good as any performance tire I've had on my 2019 GTI. surprisingly good on the snowy and icy roads we have in Connecticut. love these tiires

I saw the thread pattern and wanted these tires, fair price at the time cheap with discount code. I live in South Florida where it's hot. 11/32 Threadwear. Both rear tires are gone at about 11K miles1 tire had a bubble on the inside of the tire, the other just blew out. Extremely Soft Compound tires. I only drive at night so the heat on the road shouldn't play in as a factor.
